Meet Sandy Small
FOUNDER
Sandy started Small Business Ledger Co. with a pretty simple idea: build a business that lifts people up.
That starts with doing exceptional accounting work. With an MBA, more than a decade of senior-level accounting experience, and a career that actually began not long after high school, Sandy knows her way around a general ledger. She genuinely loves the details - solving the puzzle, finding what doesn't make sense, cleaning up what went sideways, and getting the numbers exactly where they need to be.
But she's just as interested in what happens after the numbers are right. Sandy has a particular talent for taking accounting out of "accountant speak" and explaining it in a way that makes sense to the person actually running the business. Because a perfectly prepared financial statement isn't especially useful if the business owner doesn't understand what it's telling them.
That philosophy carries into the way she works with clients, especially when the books have gotten messy. There's no judgment and no interest in spending unnecessary time figuring out who deserves the blame. The question is much more useful: How do we fix it, and how do we make sure it stays fixed?
Sandy is organized, relentlessly detail-oriented, quick-witted, and firmly convinced that professional doesn't have to mean impersonal. She wants SBLC clients to know the people taking care of their books, feel comfortable asking questions, understand their numbers, and know that someone on the other side genuinely cares about what happens to their business.
And when the numbers don't quite make sense?
Calculated Confusion? That's where Sandy gets interested.
Meet Florgent Rexhepi
Business Development Manager
Florgent has a natural talent for connecting with people - and an equally natural instinct for turning a good conversation into an opportunity.
Based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Florgent leads business development efforts for Small Business Ledger Co., building relationships with business owners, professionals, and potential strategic partners in both Europe and the United States. He also helps SBLC explore international partnerships and new ways to expand the resources we can offer our clients as the company grows.
Before discovering an interest in business, Florgent was a competitive soccer player pursuing the professional level. When an ACL injury changed that path, he did what good business developers tend to do: adjusted the plan, kept moving, and found another place to put that drive.
Warm, quick-witted, curious, and remarkably good at talking to just about anyone, Florgent brings an energy to SBLC that is entirely his own.
Around here, we call him the Sparkly Menace. It fits.
Meet Zach Pennington
IT Manager
Zach is the person we turn to when technology needs to work the way it was supposed to in the first place.
With eight years of experience in information technology, including help desk support and systems administration, Zach manages the technology behind Small Business Ledger Co. - helping keep our systems secure, connected, and running smoothly. He also works directly with clients when they need help navigating accounting technology, integrations, system setup, or the occasional piece of software that has decided not to cooperate.
Zach earned his degree in Theater from UMBC and is also a professional voice-over artist and owner of ZP Voices, LLC. It is an unconventional combination that makes a surprising amount of sense: he understands technology, but he is also exceptionally good at communicating with the people who have to use it. And if you have ever called SBLC, you have already met him - Zach is the voice behind our phone greetings and will lend that voice to future SBLC media as well.
Warm, patient, quick with a joke, and equipped with just the right amount of sarcasm, Zach believes technology should make running a business easier - not give you one more thing to worry about.
At SBLC, his job is simple: keep the technology working, keep the data protected, and keep the humans from wanting to throw their computers out the window.
